Over the past couple of years, Asus had been struggling in the Indian smartphone space, especially after getting tough competition from Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo among others. But the  Zenfone Max Pro marked the company’s road to redemption. A strong competitor to Redmi Note 5 Pro, Asus managed to pack good hardware and price it aggressively, which won some rave reviews from critics.

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 6GB RAM mobile features a 5.99″ (15.21 cm) display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and runs on Android v8.1 (Oreo) operating system. The device is powered by Octa core (1.8 GHz, Quad core, Kryo 260 + 1.6 GHz, Quad core, Kryo 260) processor paired with 6 GB of RAM. ASUS just Launched the smartphone in India back in April, and the phone went on sale from May 3rd in 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version and the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage versions starting at  Rs. 10,999. At the launch the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version with 16MP primary rear and 16MP front camera for Rs. 14,999 in June, but it did not happen.

As for camera specifications, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 bears a dual camera setup at the back with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary depth sensing sensor. On the front there is an 16-megapixel selfie camera. Both the rear and front camera get soft-light LED flash. There is up to 64GB inbuilt storage on the phone, with microSD card support up to 2TB for expansion. And, a 5000mAh battery, with a bundled 10W charger, powers in the internals from under the hood.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2 (with aptX), GPS/ A-GPS, BDS, GLONASS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors onboard the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 include Face Unlock sensor, fingerprint sensor, and the likes. Dimensions are 159x76x8.61mm and weight is 180 grams.
